Our client is on the hunt for multiple talented Java Developers for a 6 month + contract, based in Canberra.

The contracts have the option to extend offering stability to the successful applicants.

The contracts are for a development project with a large Government department via a international consulting company.

Java Developer

• Extensive Java and J2EE development experience, preferably gained on complex multi-tier web-based business applications
• In depth knowledge and experience of working with Spring, Hibernate, Struts2, Maven, SQL, XML, Tag Libraries, JSPs
• Extensive experience in supporting, modifying and maintaining systems and code developed by others
• An ability to quickly and effectively understand and translate product and business requirements into technical solutions whilst adhering to the agreed specification
• Knowledge and experience of software development processes and methodologies

Senior Java Developer (2 roles)

Internal and External Client / Customer Service 

Workshop with business representatives to elicit a common understanding of requirements and scope of project work

Analyse and document business/functional processes and requirements using standard analysis methodologies and tools

Using knowledge of system capabilities, rules, and architecture, convert business needs into functional designs

Provide clear and concise documentation of agreed solutions

Develop and deliver effective communication materials for various audiences

Identify and assist in resolving issues and engage with stakeholders on resolution

Job Description


The Business Architect will be a key member of our clients Advisory Service team within the BAT (Business Architecture & Transformation) Practice. The consultant will be responsible for leading engagements for clients and for advising clients on green field package (e.g. SAP, Oracle) implementations and roll-outs within their organization using best-in-class practices in the associated package (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and the said industry. The consultant is expected to develop and plan the approach and objectives for the engagement and lead mid to large sized teams of consultants depending on the scope of the engagement, offering broad expertise, insight and credibility in the Business Transformation space.

As an experienced member of the team, the BAT Business Architect will work with the Program Manager to ensure successful execution of engagements. Consultant is expected to lead/ assist discussions in the areas of architecture, solution design along with guiding and mentoring the team, acting as one of the key liaisons with client executives (including CXOs) and senior managers. In addition, this role will involve leading the design and development efforts by reuse of BAT Practice frameworks and tools. Additionally, the consultant is expected to significantly contribute towards thought capital as well as development and presentation of papers/ point-of-views on innovative topics in Business Process Transformation.

Responsibilities:-
• Lead and execute Business Transformation (BT) engagements
• Work with account and client leadership teams to plan and implement BT strategy
• Work with management to perform assessment of capabilities, current resources, technology and processes
• Lead and create structure, design and roadmap for BT programs
• Initiate, Facilitate and Execute improvement initiatives at client locations specific to BT engagements
• BT roadmap creation, process analysis, design, solution development and execution
• Lead the problem solving efforts, and acts as the Thought Leader and facilitate analysis, simulation and resolution along with winning client confidence
• Collect data and conduct analysis, and build any necessary strategic insight to support deliverables
• Manage client relationships and facilitate solution acceptance. May be responsible for revenue and business targets depending on role
• Ensure successful project execution within aggressive timelines
• Determine and articulate key Business and IT metrics for all BT services being delivered to the clients

Desired Skills & Experience
• M.B.A. or Master’s in a relevant discipline strongly preferred
• 10-15 years experience in IT industry
• Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of delivering Package (e.g. SAP, Oracle) based IT Consulting services leveraging best-in-class IT governance across specific industries
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Enterprise Apps packages
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience (e.g. providing Package based IT consulting services in BFSI for 3 years)
• Proven subject matter expertise in a particular domain (e.g. Finance, SCM, HCM, CRM).
• Certification in a process area for a particular product (e.g. SAP SCM certified)
• Proven track record of Functional / Configuration knowledge of identified processes in at least one package
• A minimum experience of leading 2 Business Transformation engagements
• Appreciation and experienced in SDLC models and package specific methodologies such as ASAP, AIM
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing Solutions for BT deals with at least 50% success record
• Experienced in providing strategic direction in the areas of Business Process Transformation, IT strategy and roadmap, Portfolio management, critical Problem Solving
• Ability to engage with senior leadership via
o Demonstrated thought leadership
